Cool. Now go shout about it – Marketing

Nice card design you’ve got there. Be a shame if nobody saw it.

You’ve perfected the style, finalised the colours and uploaded it to the Scribbler site (remember to upload in RGB!), and now you get to show your baby off.

Be prepared to be your biggest fan, because we’re going to guide you on how best to market your lovely card designs.

It’s a bit like LinkedIn, only not super wanky.

A little help from your friends

Honestly, if your friends and family aren’t already your biggest fans, you need to get new ones. Yes, that might involve replacing your parents. Soz.

Send them your new designs and ask them for support by sharing on social media, to their own friends, extended family members (even though Uncle Terry doesn’t even know what a ‘Scribbler’ is).

If they really cared about you, they’d buy your designs from the website. Not only does this give you a little bit of pocket money, but it also helps push your design up the rankings for even more eyes to see.

Basically, you’ve got something to be proud of, so show it off to everyone who’ll look at it!

Slut it out on social media

Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter, whatever the f it’s called), Tinder, Pinterest, Bebo, MySpace. Instead of resharing puppy videos, use your social media accounts to show off your impeccable talent.

Tag us @scribblercards and use #scribblerdesigners so we can repost and share the love, too!

Don’t overthink the caption, either. Here are some ideas:

-Look what just went live on @ScribblerCards 👀🎉
-Buy my card so I can pay my rent x
-If you don’t buy my card, we’re not friends.

Don’t forget to engage with your audience, either! Reply to comments, even if it’s just with an emoji.

Link in Bio, baby

Add a link in bio to your social accounts so people can find your designs easily. Honestly? People are lazy, you need to help them out as much as possible.

Use linktree to create multiple links!

Engage with the community

The design community is lovely, we should know, we work with them every single day.

Many other creators in the greetings card community will share your sense of style, design and humour, so reach out to them.

They’ll be able to offer advice and strategies to ensure your designs get as many sales as possible. In fact, they’ll know better than us – maybe they should’ve written this?

Follow them on social media and drop them a nice lil DM!

Think seasonal trends

Got a Halloween card? Christmas? Valentine’s Day with the word “fuck” on it? Start plugging those in advance – people don’t buy cards the day of, they panic-buy the week before.

Remind them. Gently. Or aggressively. Up to you.

Final Pep Talk

Marketing doesn’t have to be sleazy, salesy or soul-destroying. It’s just sharing the cool stuff you made, with a sprinkle of your great personality.

So get out there. Be loud. Be proud. And don’t forget to tag us—we love showing off your genius.

Nice card design you’ve got there. Be a shame if nobody saw it.
